Florida-Friendly Landscaping

Irrigation SprinklerThe Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Program recognizes landscapes that use sustainable landscaping practices. Florida-Friendly landscapes minimize the use of potable water for irrigation, avoid the runoff of excess fertilizers and pesticides from the landscape, and provide habitats for wildlife.

The program is guided by nine principles:

  1. Right Plant, Right Place
  2. Water Efficiently
  3. Fertilize Appropriately
  4. Mulch
  5. Attract Wildlife
  6. Manage Yard Pests Responsibly
  7. Recycle Yard Waste
  8. Reduce Stormwater Runoff
  9. Protect the Waterfront

Find the right plant for the right place by using the FFL Plant Guide. Create a healthy and beautiful landscape that protects Florida’s natural resources.
