BSU water is safe to drink
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, America’s drinking water supplies remain a safe and affordable way to access the water needed for drinking, cooking and maintaining personal hygiene during the COVID-19 outbreak. BSU follows EPA and State regulations for water treatment. Filtration and disinfection work well to prevent viruses and other waterborne pathogens from contaminating drinking water and wastewater.
Emergency Response Plan
In response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, and in coordination with the declaration of national, state and local emergencies, we have activated our Emergency Response Plan. Our Emergency Operation Center has been activated at level 3. We are monitoring the pandemic and readying emergency support staff who would need to take action as part of their everyday responsibilities.

Protecting our staff
We have implemented many of the same precautions and safety measures as other organizations. Additional sanitation and disinfection efforts are underway within our buildings and facilities. Access has been further restricted to control rooms and other plant operations. External in-person meetings have been cancelled or rescheduled as teleconference or web-based meetings. Administrative staff are now working remotely, and working distances are increased for employees who remain onsite.
