It takes much more than just turning on the tap to guarantee clean, potable water.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the average person uses approximately 82 gallons of water or more per day. This includes water for laundry, dishwashing,
bathing, drinking and other household activities.
How can YOU help protect our water quality?
Incorporate these simple tips into your daily routine, not only this month, but all year long to make an impact.
Reduce Indoor Water Usage
- Run full loads in your dishwasher and washing machine.
- Install high-efficiency showerheads, faucets and toilets.
- Periodically, check your toilets for leaks. Free dye tabs are available at our Customer Service Center.
Reduce Outdoor Water Usage
- Check hoses, connectors and faucets for leaks each month.
- Check your irrigation system for leaks/breaks and look for soft spots around your yard, which indicate broken sprinkler heads.
- Know how long your irrigation system is set to run to ensure you are not overwatering.
